Meet Pam (fingers)
As a child, I remember playing in an area of the basement that significantly influenced my life. That space was behind a furnace. The story, Behind The Furnace, was written through the eyes of a child, mine. In children’s picture book style, the relationship between creativity and environment is remembered.
The upcoming companion story, Behind The Furnace And Back Again, chronicles 60 years later. I have returned, time and time again, to a behind the furnace environment. This constant in my life has made the pursuit of many different adventures and career paths possible. Approaching significant decisions with creativity and enthusiasm, rather than a struggle through change, has allowed my imagination to soar. And now, at 73, I’ve been able to create a retirement I never imagined possible. I encourage looking carefully at the environment in which children and adults learn attitudes and skills necessary for a curious and inspired approach to life.
